WP11 Network Meeting – March 2026
In March 2026, the DURABLE WP11 partners gathered for their monthly network meeting, with a thematic focus on respiratory viruses. These meetings continue to serve as a key platform for sharing timely updates and in-depth scientific insights across the consortium.
The session was structured in two parts, combining updates on recent developments with more detailed research presentations. This format allowed participants to stay informed on the latest developments – such as emerging H5 influenza situations – while also exploring advanced modelling approaches and antiviral research targeting respiratory pathogens.
Thematic Focus: Respiratory Viruses
Part I – Updates on recent developments
- Martin Beer – Friedrich Loeffler Institut – Update on H5
- Erik Karlsson – Pasteur Network (PN) / Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) – H5 in Cambodia
Part II / In depth-studies
- Simon Cauchemez- Institut Pasteur – Modelling stockpiling needs for influenza antivirals
- Manon Laporte – KU Leuven – Blocking viral assembly; highly potent inhibitors of coronavirus assembly in animal infection models & Discovery of henipavirus inhibitors using the Cedar virus
By integrating rapid updates with deeper scientific discussion, the WP11 meetings foster a comprehensive understanding of evolving infectious disease threats and support coordinated, evidence-based responses across the DURABLE network in Europe.
